Purpose of the tool

AI readiness check, your interactive self-test.

This self-test shows in under 10 minutes how AI-ready your company is. You answer 15 short questions across five dimensions, the tool calculates a score and shows an evaluation with concrete next steps. No prices are named and no sensitive company data is requested. The evaluation runs entirely in the browser.

Sounds like your case? A short strategy call via our booking calendar clarifies that quickly, alternatively email info@ki-beratung.co.

Possible results

  • Foundation still missing (0 to 39 %)
  • Ready for a first pilot (40 to 69 %)
  • Ready to scale (from 70 %)

The score is a structured self-assessment, not an audit. The calculation runs in your browser, nothing is transmitted.

How the tool calculates
  • The overall score is the sum of all answers (0 to 60), converted to a percentage (score divided by 60, times 100).
  • Additionally, a partial score (0 to 12) is calculated per dimension and shown as a percentage.
  • Classification by overall percentage: 0 to 39% foundation still missing, 40 to 69% ready for a first pilot, 70 to 100% ready to scale.
  • Every dimension below 50% is highlighted as a concrete next step, regardless of the overall score.

Structure, five dimensions with three questions each

The question set covers the five readiness dimensions. Each question is answered on a scale from 0 to 4 (0 does not apply, 4 fully applies). Each dimension allows a maximum of 12 points, 60 in total.

Dimension 1, data quality and data access:

  1. Handshake at a meeting table seen from above

    Step 1

Our key business data is digital, structured and centrally accessible.

  2. Two people in conversation with a notepad and laptop

    Step 2

Data quality and freshness are good enough to base decisions on.

  3. Control room with several monitors

    Step 3

We can link data across systems without exporting everything manually.

Dimension 2, process maturity:

  1. Our core processes are documented and largely run the same way.
  2. We know exactly which tasks cost a lot of time and repeat.
  3. Processes can be adjusted without everything blocking immediately.

Dimension 3, tooling and technology:

  1. Our systems offer interfaces (APIs) for connecting data.
  2. We already use first AI or automation tools, at least in trials.
  3. IT can introduce new tools without every initiative waiting for months.

Dimension 4, skills and culture:

  1. Our team is open to AI and tries out new tools.
  2. There are people who operate AI tools confidently and can guide others.
  3. Leadership visibly supports AI initiatives and provides time for them.

Dimension 5, governance and compliance:

  1. Responsibilities for data and AI are clearly defined.
  2. We know the EU AI Act requirements (Art 4) and how our data is handled.
  3. Data protection and approval processes are clarified before new tools go live.

Scoring and evaluation logic

The overall score is the sum of all answers (0 to 60), converted to a percentage (score divided by 60, times 100). Additionally, a partial score (0 to 12) is calculated per dimension and shown as a percentage, so strengths and gaps become visible.

Classification by overall percentage:

  • 0 to 39%, foundation still missing: Groundwork first on the weakest dimensions before an AI project starts. Recommendation to begin with data quality and clear processes.
  • 40 to 69%, ready for a first pilot: The base holds for a focused use case. Recommendation to tackle the AI potential analysis and an accompanied pilot.
  • 70 to 100%, ready to scale: A good basis to roll out several use cases in parallel with governance. Recommendation to aim the strategy roadmap at scaling.

Additional rule for gaps: Every dimension below 50% is highlighted in the evaluation as a concrete next step, regardless of the overall score. This way, even with a good average, you see where a single weakness would slow down a project.

Evaluation output

The evaluation shows the overall score as a percentage, the classification with a plain-text recommendation, a bar overview of the five dimensions and a list of the three to five most important next steps, derived from the weakest dimensions. Below it sits a neutral CTA to the strategy call, without any price information.

FAQ

Are my answers stored?
No. The calculation runs entirely in the browser, your answers are not transmitted to a server or stored permanently. Only if you actively request your result by email do we process the details needed for that. Details are in the privacy policy.
How accurate is the score?
The score is a structured self-assessment, not an audit. It reliably shows in which dimensions you are strong and where groundwork is needed. For a robust analysis focused on concrete use cases, the AI potential analysis follows, looking deeper into data and processes.
What does my result mean for the next step?
At a low score, groundwork on the weakest dimensions is advisable. In the middle range you are ready for a first pilot. At a high score you can roll out several use cases with governance. The evaluation names the fitting next steps concretely.
Does the check cost anything?
No. The self-test is free and non-binding, and no prices are named deliberately. It is meant to give you an honest baseline. If you want to go deeper afterwards, we discuss it in the free strategy call.
